Hearing Dogs

Find out the many ways you can support the children’s charity both online & off.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is an incredibly inspiring charity that changes lives every day – sponsor a puppy to help…

What else can you do?

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity and training centre for hearing dogs. It helps support deaf people by pairing them with life-long partners who are able to alert their owners in different situations both at home and outside.

Hearing Dogs has been around a little longer than 30 years now and in this time they have had over 1600 successful partnerships between deaf people and hearing dogs in the UK. Hearing dogs are much more than just companions for those with hearing difficulties – they provide significant assistance and help them around the clock. They are able to guide their owners in everyday situations as well as in danger or extraordinary moments.

Consider Sponsoring A Puppy

Many of the hearing dogs are Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Cocker Spaniels, Poodles and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – there’s a strict breeding scheme and training schedule to ensure the dogs match the necessary requirements of hearing dogs.

The training takes around 1.5 years as the puppies have to receive initial socialisation training as well as more specific sound work training. They are provided to deaf people at no charge. The breeding, training, placement and life-long care of hearing dogs costs up to £45,000, which is why the donations are vital and essential.
